We Are Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

If we would elevate the moral standard in any country where we may be called to go, we must begin by correcting their physical habits. Virtue of character depends upon the right action of the powers of the mind and body.–Counsels on Health, p. 505.
In this country, physiology is not taught as a requirement in our schools.  It is left to the medical profession to study anatomy and physiology.  This is not enough or near enough to get the right results.  Everyone should acquire some knowledge of the structure and function of all the parts of the body and instruction in these lines should begin at a very early age covering the internal parts as well as the external parts.

Were this done, a lot of things that go into the body would not be allowed.  The problem with Americans, they consume almost anything and everything.  This is unhealthy.  The body was designed by God for a particular use and when it is abused, it responds with symptoms that require remedies and usually, the body defends against the remedies because they do not belong in there.  Oftentimes, medication is given to suppress the immune system so that some other medication will work.  This too, is abuse of the body.
Everything God created He placed under law and the human body is no exception.  When any of these laws are violated, there is a penalty for the violation.  God does not rule from the bench.  “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”  Galatians 6:7.  When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree, the penalty for violating God’s express command was already there.  It was not added after they had sinned.  So it is with us.  When we violate the laws of our being, we suffer the sure results of our transgression.
Therefore, we must become intelligent regarding the laws of health.  We can find them in the Bible if we study to show ourselves approved unto God and not unto people who have no regard for His Word.
It is interesting how we take better care of our vehicles than we do our bodies.  We know for sure that if we don’t take care of them, they will brake down and we’ll need assistance to get back on the road again.  As simple as this analogy is, it is true likewise of the body. Our physical habitation is lent to us from God to develop a character that would withstand all the temptations that constantly come upon us and lead us into a wrong course of action and cause pain to our love ones, who themselves, are powerless to avert the consequences of our decisions.
Believe it or not, there are many foods that will alleviate many of the symptoms we suffer with.  These are not foreign to the body and can be assimilated into good blood without putting an added burden upon it as foreign medications do with their side affects.  Herbs are also a good source of remedial agencies if used intelligently.  Try using hot and cold water and sometimes even combining them in treatment.  Drinking plenty of water is a wonderful tonic. The sun is an excellent source of natural medicine.  Using it wisely and not overdoing it, brings great relief for some sufferers.  Exercise, by all means, is cheap enough to outperform many expensive medicines and doctor visits.  Do not overdue this one either.  Use all treatments moderately and sensibly.  Eliminating certain things from the diet is a good remedial act.  Reading Leviticus chapter 11 and Deuteronomy chapter 14 is a good place to start.  They are God’s will for health.  You will experience the difference when you do this.
As we continue to print this publication, we will add other things of natural use that will be beneficial to you and your family.  We hope you will become well informed so that you can present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.  “ And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful [is] he that calleth you, who also will do [it].”  1 Thessalonians  5:23, 24.
